Volunteer Information

Volunteer Uniform Package

Regions Tradition asks that all volunteers purchase a Volunteer Uniform Package. The package fee subsidizes the cost of the volunteer uniform and other package items, and thereby supports the tournament's endeavor to generate more funds to donate and distribute to local charities. Junior Volunteers are complimentary.

Cost: $70 (retail value of $445)

UNIFORM DISTRIBUTION WILL TAKE PLACE ON NUMEROUS DATES DURING MARCH & APRIL - DAYS/TIMES/LOCATIONS TBA.  If you live out of town, you will be able to pick up your uniform and credential at the tournament.

**To be eligible for the play day, volunteers MUST work a minimum of 3 shifts. Registration for the Play Day will begin following the tournament. Required $25 cart rental fee is not included. The round is transferable to family members only. On a "space available" basis only, volunteers will be allowed to bring a guest for a $50 fee, plus the cart fee (spots open a few days prior to each play day).

Volunteers are assigned to a variety of committees, performing the many tasks required to conduct a PGA TOUR Champions event. A description of each committee is available for your review prior to your selection of committee choices on the online Volunteer Application. Each volunteer is given the opportunity to list three committee preferences. Volunteers will be notified of their committee assignment through email once the Volunteer Application is completed. Committee assignments are granted on a first-come, first-served basis. Read the various job committee descriptions here.  

Shifts and Schedules

All volunteers are required to work a minimum of 3 shifts over the course of the tournament. Shifts are approximately 4-6 hours long, but can vary depending on the committee. Volunteers are welcome to work more than 3 shifts if they would like. On the online application, you will have the opportunity to select your availability, and note if you want to work more than 3 shifts. Please note, these times are not your final schedule, but will serve as a starting point for your Committee Chairman as they create a shift schedule. Once shift assignments have been made, volunteers will be available to view their personal schedule through their volunteer online profile. Volunteer schedules will be completed by April 23rd. 

Junior Volunteers

Junior Volunteers ages 13-17 also have the opportunity to volunteer at the tournament by serving as a Standard Bearer. Standard Bearers have the exciting role of walking inside of the ropes with a player group while carrying a two-sided scoring standard to keep spectators informed of who is playing in the group and how the player stands with respect to par both in the round being played and cumulatively. Standard Bearer positions are available Wednesday-Sunday during the tournament. Junior Volunteers do not have to purchase the Volunteer Package as listed above. They will receive a complimentary t-shirt and hat to wear upon arriving for their first shift.

Marshal Team Program

The Marshal Team Program will give your company or organization the opportunity to volunteer together as a group by serving as Marshals during the Regions Tradition tournament. This fun, unique team-building opportunity promotes employee volunteerism and community involvement. Participating groups will receive special recognition for the company with signage stating "Hole Marshaled by (company name)". This opportunity is available on a first-come first-serve basis.  This is a GREAT way to reward your employees with a day out of the office, volunteering for a charitable cause.  This can also be used as a customer outing, instead of the same old "let's take you out to dinner".
